Analysis and development of an Olympic brand.
This project focuses on creating the visual identity for a hypothetical edition of the Olympic Games set to take place in Cairo in 2036. Developed as a bachelor’s thesis in Graphic Design, it covers all applications of the brand and visual design. The project is based on research connecting key elements of visual culture and contemporary art with graphic design perspectives for both global and local communication.
The process starts with a historical and cultural study of the Olympic visual identity—an event representing more than sport, symbolizing universal values like freedom, peace, and modernity. Each edition leaves a distinctive mark through design, reflecting the spirit of the time and the host country’s culture. To develop the project, several past editions were analyzed, each significantly impacting the evolution of Olympic brand design and inspiring the final outcome.
